Live mobile testing on real 3G smartphones with local operator SIMs
LONDON, 19th JUNE 2014 – Empello has launched RemoteLab, which enables retailers, merchants and other providers of mobile services to view and test the operation of their services – on real mobile devices, with local SIM cards (rather than relying on simulators or emulators). Designed for product, marketing and compliance testing, RemoteLab brings authentic and affordable testing to the market.
RemoteLab has launched in the UK, Germany, Italy, Poland, Mexico, Colombia and Australia, with a further six countries to be added over the next three months. It provides a much-needed and highly-valued opportunity to test, in a live environment, new systems and services which will be consumed on mobile devices.
“RemoteLab means new services can be launched in complete confidence, knowing that they run smoothly in a range of real-life situations, as well as comply with relevant legislation,” says Jeremy Flynn, Director at Empello. “With RemoteLab a provider can install apps, swipe and interact with the handset, test billing, view and monitor local advertising as well as send and receive SMS – on any local mobile network.”
RemoteLab uses real live phones and other mobile devices and allows the tester to use the handset in every way they would if they were holding it in their own hand, despite sitting thousands of miles away. All operation, interaction, presentation of pages, messages, ads and apps, as well as all billing, is exactly as it would be in the remote country. A simulated testing environment simply cannot replicate the mobile experience in this way.
RemoteLab complements perfectly Empello’s provision of compliance support and ad monitoring to a range of clients worldwide. Besides Empello’s managed service provision, clients are now able to perform product, service and marketing testing directly.
